When will Hoaxed be Released the General Public?

Published

on

“Release Hoaxed already!” The hype for Hoaxed is any filmmaker’s envy, and I planned on releasing Hoaxed weeks ago. Then we signed with a distributor who ask for my E&O policy for Hoaxed.

Hoaxed cleared legal long ago, as the film is represented by free speech lawyer Marc Randazza. There’s no plausible lawsuit to bring against Hoaxed. My first film Silenced didn’t have any issues, and I’ve never been threatened with a lawsuit for my media and journalism.

  • By “threatened with a lawsuit,” I mean I’d never had an actual lawyer send me a demand letter. Creeps online have threatened to sue me hundreds of times. The issue is this: When they talk to a lawyer, he or she says, “You know that Cernovich will get discovery into your life? This means you’ll have to share with him every sock puppet account you use to stalk and harass and threaten children. Are you prepared to give over every anonymous account history you have to a court of law?”

Hoaxed isn’t a hit piece on any one person.

It’s a meta-critique of media generally. No one person is going to watch Hoaxed and call his lawyer, or at least if he or she does, the lawyer would laugh at them.

And the news footage critiqued in Hoaxes is from big-box networks and is well within the lines of fair use.

In terms of lawsuit risk, Hoaxed doesn’t have any credible issues.

But to show Hoaxed in theaters for a public release (rather than a private screening), we must have E&O insurance. This isn’t optional. Theaters won’t show Hoaxed without the magic piece of paper that can only be granted by an insurance company.

And insurance companies have a much different assessment of risk that ordinary people.

The review of Hoaxed has taken several weeks, and we’re still in underwriting.

In the meantime, you can watch Hoaxed in a private screening this Sunday in New York!

Contact me here for event details.

Hoaxed has Astounded Viewers

“I don’t want to seem starstruck, but this film is amazing,” the large retired SWAT officer who was providing personal protection for my wife and I said after watching Hoaxed.

No ANTIFA creeps showed up because I didn’t invite any members of the media to attend Hoaxed. I’ve learned that “journalists” will leak the venue to ANTIFA in order to incite violence. That’s exactly what happened in New York, and once the details goes public (there’s an active police investigation), you’ll have a full understanding of what happened that night, and how the media works with ANTIFA to direct political violence.

“Babe, this is the film you wanted.”

I was driving to a dinner for backers when a text arrived. It was my wife telling me the Hoaxed rough cut was ready. “This is the film you always wanted to make.”

I pulled over to Philz coffee in El Segundo to grab a large black Philtered Soul (my drink of choice) and watch Hoaxed.

I was captivated.

Hoaxed was better than I could have imagined.

A lot of you don’t know that Hoaxed is my second feature-length film. My first, Silenced, had a strong cast. It hit two of the three R’s.

Right Place, Right Time, Right Message.

Life is a game of luck and skill. The right message or product is a result of skill. Being at the right place and the right time have larger elements of luck. If you are at the right place at the right time with the right message, you’ll win big.

If you hit two of the three R’s, you’ll be OK, but won’t have that wow or “It” factor.

Silenced was the right film at the right time. Visually it wasn’t what it should have been.

It didn’t turn out to be the success it should have been, due to issues not worth discussing here.

You can watch Silenced here.

Although I knew the audience would enjoy Hoaxed, they loved it.

People were blushing.

That’s a body language tell that can’t be easily fake.

If you have a good movie, people will be happy for you. They’ll shake your hand.

When those cheeks are rosy, you know you have a hit.

Hoaxed was a different level of the game.

And that’s not bragging. I produced the film. I didn’t make it.

Before becoming a filmmaker, I didn’t know the difference between a producer and a director.

A producer raises the cash, offers direction, and provides strategy.

Directors do the rest.

The co-directors will tell you I’m a bit more involved than a lot of other producers. I want to make sure the film has flow, and I offer creative direction. Though 90% of Hoaxed was the co-directors vision.

Jon Du Toit and Scooter Downey also edited the film. They edited all of the footage, rendered it, and dealt with the drama of 4K footage from a Red camera.

(If you know anything about films, you realize how hellish their lives were for the past 18 months.)

The direction, composition, and VFX were done by very hard-working film makers and musicians.

You had to been there to feel the Energy.

Earlier that day I had a booth at Politicon for Hoaxed.

Politicon had invited me to do a panel, but I don’t like panels.

I like being on the floor. Let people who like me come over. Let the haters come over. Have trolls take my picture. It’s all good. As a field commander, it’s on me to know what people think.

Despite what you read on the Internet, the vibes of the people coming over to the booth were positive.

Only one person was a creeper, and he didn’t start any troubles, so I told him, “God bless you.”

The idea that a lot of people hate me is a great media hoax. I am beloved by the people.

Stefan was also a huge draw.

  • Whatever you think about Cernovich, Hoaxed will make you think about what you see on the news and whether it’s real. Hint: it’s not.

Is “Kung Flu” the latest Media Hoax?

Published

on

Several White House reporters confronted Trump regarding his decision to call the coronavirus (or COVID-19) the China Virus.  One reporter asked him about a White House administration official who is alleged to have called the coronavirus Kung Flu.

When the reporter was asked the name of the official, the reporter said she didn’t know.

The original claim regarding Kung Flu comes from CBS reporter Weijia Jiang. On March 17th, she Tweeted:

This morning a White House official referred to #Coronavirus as the “Kung-Flu” to my face. Makes me wonder what they’re calling it behind my back.

Ms. Jiang has not identified the official.

One reason could be because this official does not even exist.

Under American defamation law, you can lie all you like.

You can’t lie about a person by name.

If no White House official called the coronavirus Kung Flu, or if there is some important context missing, then Jiang could be sued.

You can watch the Kung Flu exchange in this video here:

The Stafford Act Text Message Announcing an Emergency Quarantine is a Hoax

Published

on

By now you or someone you know has received a hoax text announcing martial law. With some minor variations, the texts all read the same:

  • In 48 to 72 hours the president will evoke what is called the Stafford act. Just got off the phone with some of my military friends in DC who just got out of a two hour briefing. The president will order a two week mandatory quarantine for the nation. Stock up on whatever you guys need to make sure you have a two week supply of everything. Please forward.

The National Security Council issued a rare public statement warning the public that the Stafford act text was a hoax.

How can you tell the Stafford Act Text is a Hoax?

Even if you refuse to accept the NSC’s word on the matter, the text message has some telltale signs of a hoax.

First, the text promises secret insider knowledge. “Just got off the phone with some of my military friends in DC who just got out of a two hour briefing.” This is a vague enough proclamation that it sounds plausible.

Second, no specifics of these friends are given. Who are these friends? Why did they call this specific person?

Third, the hoaxers ask you to spread the message. Why would anyone acting in good faith want to incite a panic?

If an emergency quarantine were able to be declared, the plan would be Top Secret. No one’s friends would just get out of a briefing and start alerting people. THEY WOULD GO TO PRISON FOR LEAKING CLASSIFIED INFORMATION.

If such an emergency plan were in the works and higher command wanted the story to get out, they’d leak it to a credible outlet. Not share chain-letter style text messages.

There’s also tradecraft involved in sharing classified information.

None of the telltale signs (and no I won’t share how to leak classified secrets here) were present in that alert.

UPDATE: Other outlets are now reporting that the Stafford Act text is a foreign disinformation campaign:

The Trump administration is alleging that a foreign disinformation campaign is underway aimed at spreading fear in the country amid the coronavirus pandemic, three U.S. officials said Monday. On Sunday, federal officials began confronting what they said was a deliberate effort by a foreign entity to sow fears of a nationwide quarantine amid the virus outbreak.

Agencies took coordinated action Sunday evening to deny that any such plans were put in place, as they tried to calm a nation already on edge by disruptions to daily life caused by the virus.

How Trump Drafted Google into the War Against Coronavirus

Published

on

Elvis Presley served in the Army after he was drafted, and in American history it was common for celebrities to serve their country during times of national crisis. Noblesse oblige, or the duty the noble and rich owed to society, arouse perhaps out of morality or maybe simple self-preservation. If you’re getting while the getting is good, giving something back goes a long way to avoid class resentment.

Those thoughts were perhaps on Trump’s mind (or more likely his instinct) when he announced that Google was taking massive action to help America fight the coronavirus.

Google at first pushed back at the suggestion that it, a nearly trillion dollar mega-corporation, actually doing something to help the users it profits from.

Why should Google help save lives? Why should Google do anything other than operate as an amoral, blood-sucking corporation that violates user privacy and exploits children?

The media bros were quick to rush to save Google. Poor Google! They were being bullied by the ORANGE MAN BAD.

Google’s media errand boys like Jake Tapper and others were quick to publish stories attacking Trump for suggesting that Google actually do something.

Some like your humble correspondent Mike Cernovich saw right away was Trump was doing.

Trump was drafting Google into the war against coronavirus.

Google, whatever its motivations, answered the draft.

Public pressure must intensify.

The corporations make billions of dollars a day by spying on users.

The least they can do is use that data to find out where coronavirus hot spots are, share that information with the CDC, and get information shared with the sick.
