How to Survive a Public Shaming

Published

on

Online hate mobs, usually formed by Gawker writers and social justice bullies like Anil Dash, ruin lives. They get people fired from jobs, and in the case of Justine Sacco, they send mobs of people to threaten women with rape.

I was publicly shamed. I got a full treatment on Gawker’s front page. Some idiots did an MSNBC special on me. Newsweek and other mainstream publications attacked me. What happened? Did I cry? Did I have a nervous breakdown?

I’m still standing and laughing. In fact, my counter-attacks received more views than the attacks on me.

They say it’s wrong to be a poor sport, but whatever. You don’t play by any sporting rules.

I won. I played your game and beat you.

But if you want to play again, you know where to find me.

However, there’s a caveat. You need a big platform. Nobodies like Chris Kluwe try challenging me, but he can’t bring me enough page views to justify an appearance by yours truly.

I can move the needle, even at my own platforms. On a larger platform the ratings would be huge.

If you want a shot at the champ, you gotta set it up in Madison Square Garden.

P.S. I also laid out the blueprint for everyone else.

People are sick and tired of SJWs and their online hate mobs. Do not back down. Do not apologize. Do not quit your job. Stand your ground and fight.

I won and will continue to win.

You can do the same.

Do not apologize.

Do not quit your job. Make your employer fire you if it comes down to it.

Get your message out.

I’m just a regular guy who was tired of bullies like Sam Biddle and Gawker ruining lives.

You don’t have to be the greatest writer in the world to get your message out.

You simply need to take a stand. There are millions of others who will have your back. You are not alone.

Reach out for help. If a hashtag is formed around your name, tens of thousands of anti-bullying advocates will crash it.

P.S. Go Full Gorilla.

Is a Physically Stronger Man More Likely to Reject Social Change?

Published

on

New research from Brunel University London indicates that men who are physically stronger favor social and economic equality less than weaker men.

The study tested 171 men using various sociopolitical models. The study opens the abstract with,

“Social bargaining models predict that men should calibrate their egalitarian attitudes to their formidability and/or attractiveness. A simple social bargaining model predicts a direct negative association between formidability/attractiveness and egalitarianism, whereas a more complex model predicts an association moderated by wealth.”

In essence Dr. Michael Price with peers collected information on the physical attributes of subjects. These attributes included height, weight, arm and chest strength, waist size, muscle circumference, and hand grip.

Secondarily they also accessed exercise habits(how often they workout), economic standing, and sociopolitical leanings. Specifically for example, they recorded whether subjects support concepts like the redistribution of wealth.

Finally the study focused on physical traits of “perceived dominance” via facial appearance. The subject’t faces were independently rated by focus groups in terms of the groups perception of dominance and attractive features.

The results were very telling. They concluded that there is in fact a strong correlation between those with higher bodily formidability and the belief that some social groups should dominate others. These men were also less likely to support concepts like the redistribution of wealth.

However the study also concluded that contrary to their predictions, the data indicated no significant correlation between being perceived as attractive(in the waist-to-chest ratio and facial features) and the support of redistribution principles.

The study did note that men who are more muscular tended to be less egalitarian. Breaking the data down even further revealed that the amount of time in the gym was linked to having decreasing less egalitarian socioeconomic beliefs.

“We believe that this link between perceived formidability and egalitarianism could be explained in a number of ways. It could be the result of men calibrating their egalitarianism to their own formidability. It could be the case that less egalitarian men strive harder to become muscular. Or there could be a third variable at play affecting both egalitarianism and muscularity”, stated Dr Price, Senior Lecturer in Psychology in the College of Health and Life Sciences at Brunel

Dr. Price continues, ”

“The causal direction here is somewhat ambiguous – does being muscular cause men to be less egalitarian, or are less-egalitarian men just more likely to lift weights? Our results suggest that wealthier men who are more formidable physically are more likely to oppose redistribution of wealth. Essentially, they seem more motivated to defend their resources. But less wealthy men who are still physically formidable don’t seem more inclined to support redistribution either. They’re not demanding a share of the wealth.”

As the data continues to come in one thing is for certain. Men who take the time to care about their health and well being also seem to have more financial success in life as well as  a better overall quality of life. A great book for learning easy to understand principles that someone could adopt to aid in their quest for a better life is Gorilla Mindset by author Mike Cernovich.

Study Claims Drinking Beer Leads To Mental Clarity

Published

on

What if drinking beer in responsible amounts could increase mental clarity? A study conducted by researchers at the University of Graz in Austria have released their findings on the subject. The results may surprise you. They make the claim that mild alcohol intoxication can improve mental clarity and spark creative thought. in the conclusion of the study they report,

“Our study corroborates the notion that small attenuations of cognitive control may facilitate certain aspects of creative cognition while not affecting others. It contributes to our understanding of the interplay between controlled and spontaneous processes in creative thought and of their relative importance in different types of creative cognition. The findings, however, should not be overgeneralized by assuming that creativity is generally supported by alcohol. Beneficial effects are likely restricted to very modest amounts of alcohol, whereas excessive alcohol consumption typically impairs creative productivity”

Fig. 1. Performance in the 2-back task (left panel), the Remote Associates Test (RAT; middle panel) and divergent thinking tasks for groups receiving alcohol (alcoholic beer) versus placebo (non-alcoholic beer) before (T1) and after intervention (T2).

How did they conduct the study? Seventy volunteers between the ages of 19 and 32 were given both alcohol-free and regular beer before taking a series of tests. The experiment showed volunteers performing better on a word problem test after drinking a pint of beer than they did after drinking the non-alcoholic drinks. However, researchers did note that  memory and concentration issues were apparent during other specific skill tests. According to the experimental design and procedure section of the study,

“Participants were asked not to consume alcohol or other drugs 24h before the experiment and not to eat and drink caffeinated drink 2h before the experiment. They were tested in groups of two people, who were randomly assigned to the experimental groups (1 alcohol and 1 placebo). The participants were blind to the experimental condition, and the employed group setting was intended to avoid any experimenter effects.”

When I read the study I found it interesting to say the least. I know there are men’s ears perking up all around the world at the notion that drinking beer may make you think clearer, but remember. the beneficial dose seemed to be one pint. I wouldn’t recommend drinking before work or school either. That wouldn’t be responsible. However, science seems to support the fact that a pint of beer may help clean up the mental cobwebs a bit. So the next time asks you why you are so smart tell them that you like beer. They may look at you funny but then send them the link to this article.  I don’t know how many employers would invest research into the benefits of having a beer on lunch break but I think that maybe the men should rally for the data. One could imagine that there is nothing like tuning out an annoying coworker after knocking back your favorite IPA at the bar down the road.  Maybe it wouldn’t be a bad idea to get some chewing gum though. Also don’t be an idiot. Drink responsibly and don’t operate motor vehicles after consuming alcohol.

6 Ways to Protect Male Fertility As National Sperm Counts Plummet

Published

on

In a previous article I satirically covered the term “soy boy.” In this article I intend to demonstrate a more serious and measurable issue facing modern men, namely male fertility and how to combat the plummeting sperm counts and testosterone levels in the past two decades. In an article, healio.com reported on a study published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism stating,

“The interesting thing we discovered was that, on average, when we measured the testosterone in the blood of a 60-year-old in 1989 it was higher than that in a different 60-year-old measured in 1995,” said Thomas Travison, PhD, of the New England Research Institutes, Watertown, Mass. “We observed the same phenomenon over a wide range of ages. Although testosterone loss is common as men age, it is often associated with diabetes, abdominal obesity, sexual dysfunction, depression and other adverse conditions.”

We know through research that the testosterone levels and sperm count are dropping over time but the science is slim on narrowing down exactly what is causing the drop. The most likely conclusion is that it is likely caused by a combination of biological and environmental factors. One of the commonly reported contributing factors include maternal chemical/plastics exposure while the male child is in the womb.  Also reported contributing factors include high percentage of body fat and sedentary lifestyle habits.

Ways to protect my sperm count and raise my chances at conceiving.

  1. Avoid nicotine and drugs. When trying to conceive, try to avoid nicotine intake completely. This goes for smoking, chewing, or vaping. Nicotine lowers sperm count and decreases motility of the sperm. It can negatively affect libido and increase chances of impotence. Nicotine also can have negative effects on the sperm’s DNA, increasing the risk of health problems of an unborn baby. Drugs like marijuana, heroin, and cocaine can cause a whole host of issues for your reproductive system which lead to loss of sperm motility and quality.
  2.  Back off the booze. Over consumption of alcohol can lead to decreased quality and quantity of sperm. In a paper published by Mary Ann Emanuele, M.D. and Nicholas V. Emanuele, M.D. titled ‘Alcohol Effects on Male Reproduction‘ they state, “The male reproductive system consists of the hypothalamus, the anterior pituitary gland, and the testes. Alcohol can interfere with the function of each of these components, thereby causing impotence, infertility, and reduced male secondary sexual characteristics.”
  3. Lower caffeine intake. When the concept that caffeine may have a negative impact on sperm count many scientists theorized that caffeine may bear quite a bit of responsibility in the wider sperm count decline. After researching the subject however scientist came to the conclusion that caffeine from coffee or tea wasn’t as detrimental as caffeine consumed in the form of a sugary soft drink.
  4. Work on your weight. Fat tissue or Adipose tissue in specific places on the body can play a role in how your body metabolizes substances, like Androgen for instance. In a report by The World Journal of Men’s Health, “Within fat tissue, enzymes such as aromatase and aldo-keto reductase 1C are responsible for metabolizing testosterone into estrogen and 5-dihydrotestosterone into inactive metabolites. Adipose tissue can also affect the secretion of gonadotropin, which influences the formation of androgen in the testes.” Also exercise can effect sperm count as well so don’t be afraid to hit the gym.
  5. Improve your diet. Eat foods which are rich with antioxidants. Fruits, vegetables, and even a glass of red wine with dinner can all be beneficial to sperm health. Avoid any kind of soy intake. Soy contains phytoestrogens that mimic estrogen. This can effect testosterone levels which in turn means less sperm. Ingredients to avoid are soy sauce, edamame, and tofu.
  6. Take a supplement. You should always research supplements before deciding which ones are right for you. Specifically in regards to sperm count and quality, a deficiency in vitamin C, zinc, and/or folic acid greatly hinder the state of the sperm. These deficiencies can also cause chromosomal abnormalities in sperm which may lead to miscarriages.
